As we noted yesterday, Impact Wrestling officially announced that the company has terminated its business relationship with Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling, effective immediately.
Furthermore, Jarrett was booked to appear at Real Canadian Wrestling events this past weekend, however he left Canada following the first event, and did not appear at his scheduled Saturday night appearance in Edmonton. RCW issued a statement on Jarrett’s status, noting he left the country on his own accord.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Jarrett showed up to the Friday night event in Calgary and was a “complete mess”, and should not have wrestled a match as he was in no condition to compete. Meltzer added Jarrett even passed out at one point during the night.
Jarrett reportedly told the promotion that customs informed him he had to head back to the States early, so he was unable to attend the Saturday event. However, upon checking into the situation, customs reportedly told RCW they had no idea what Jarrett was talking about, so it appears he left on his own, and was not forced to leave as he claimed.
In related news, Meltzer noted he was informed that Jarrett was fired from Impact Wrestling sometime last week, with the official announcement being made by the company yesterday.
