Prepare the Battlefield for Massacre!
After the two engaged in a “Great War” at Sunday’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, the “Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt returned to Monday Night RAW to announce that he was not yet done with the “Woken” one, Matt Hardy. Wyatt cut a cryptic and bizarre promo, adding that he was coming after Hardy soon.
Matt then responded to the challenge on Twitter, seemingly agreeing to one final confrontation on the condition that it would take place on the Hardy “Battlefield”. Ever since the start of this angle back in November, fans have been clamoring for some of the old elements of the “Broken Universe”, which took place on IMPACT Wrestling and featured several matches at the Hardy compound, including flying drones, magical rivers, dilapidated boats, fireworks used as weapons, a literal volcano, and Matt’s own wife, son and father-in-law.
While we’re still looking for more confirmation, and nothing has been officially announced as of yet, we have been told by one source close to the situation that WWE will be filming footage for a match between Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt that is more in line with the previous “Broken” matches fans are familiar with. Whether or not that match takes place at the Hardy Compound in North Carolina or is on neutral ground like the “House of Horrors” match that Wyatt had with Randy Orton last year, remains to be seen.
Hawkins “Coolest” Lost Yet
Curt Hawkins, who faced Goldust on Monday night in a match taped for WWE Main Event, called the bout his “coolest” loss of his now infamous 179-match losing streak. The match was taped prior to this week’s Monday Night RAW.
I wrestled @Goldust tonight in the same building he faced @R_Roddy_Piper in the infamous Hollywood Back Lot Brawl. That’s gotta be the coolest loss I’ve had yet. No shame in that, just honored.
0-179.
