As the WWE Network in-ring ideas continue to expand in the company, with the UK Title tournament airing over a two-day period next week, and the second Mae Young Classic officially kicking off in August, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting WWE is discussing yet another concept which could turn into a Network special.
As we noted back in 2017, WWE had initially planned to air promotions such as PROGRESS and WWN Live, with whom WWE has a working relationship, on WWE Network, however, for whatever reason Vince McMahon soured on the idea and it never came to pass.
The Observer is now reporting WWE is considering a Network special which would feature talents not under contract to the company, with the idea being it could introduce talents to WWE who are working elsewhere, as well as better-utilize the working relationships they have with PROGRESS, ICW and WWN Live.
