Kenny Omega on NXT Takeover Buzz
For some reason, certain wrestling fans in 2018 still feel the need to create divisions within the community, sometimes aggressively attacking others for simply like a different brand, promotion or style of wrestling.
IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega touched on this late Saturday night following NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 when avid WWE fans were apparently filling his notifications with tweets about the show. We imagine many of them were not exactly civil messages expressing a mutual love and admiration for the wrestling business. Omega tweeted, “I know it sounds crazy, but I hope the best for all those guys. I’m not the enemy,” he insisted, “just a guy doing his best somewhere else.”
If there’s one thing I can surely count on, it’s: death, taxes, and NXT fans tweeting at me non stop during one of their events. I know it sounds crazy, but I hope the best for all those guys. I’m not the enemy – just a guy doing his best somewhere else.

Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks and former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay both responded to Omega’s message, essentially echoing his sentiments. For what it’s worth, you can basically look up any of The Best Bout Machine’s more popular tweets and scroll through the never-ending sea of comments, to see exactly what he’s talking about. Can’t we all just get along?
They tweet you too?!
