— Mauro Ranallo welcomes us in-studio with Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson. Tonight we will look back on the biggest NXT Takeover special in history, including two big matches taped this Saturday in Brooklyn.
BIANCA BELAIR vs. DEONNA PURRAZZO
The two started with some great back and forth grappling exchanges until Bianca got frustrated that none of her holds could contain the seasoned Woman of Honor competitor. Belair got a handful of hair and Deonna caught her with a tilt-a-whirl looking for the Fujiwara Armbar, but ran into a hard knee to the stomach instead. Belair slowed things down for a few minutes working a headlock and taking a few cheap shots to maintain control, before setting in with a series of running elbow strikes to the midsection.
After a body slam Bianca took way too much time taunting the crowd and hamming it up, and Deonna easily rolled out of the way of a standing moonsault. She fired off with stiff chops before connecting with a hip toss into a drop kick, but for the second time had a hard time locking in the Fujiwara. Belair reversed out of the hold and planted her with a Torture Rack Facebuster to pick up the win. This was pretty good, except for Bianca not remembering which arm to sell after the match.
Winner: Bianca Belair
— They showed an interview with Velveteen Dream backstage after NXT Takeover. He put a crown on Cathy’s head and asked her what she was doing Wednesday night. She thought he was asking her out, but Dream told her to go home, turn on the WWE Network and find out what’s next for him just like the rest of the world. Poor Cathy…
— Another NXT Takeover interview where EC3 admits that he made a lot of wild and outlandish claims when he was first signed to the brand, but regardless he’s still here for victory, after victory, after victory. Things are not over until he wins. Period. He is asked about who attacked Aleister Black last week, and EC3 seemed to be pointing the finger at Lars Sullivan.
— Apparently in the last seven days WWE has been able to “analyze” the footage of Aleister Black’s attack, and there’s new evidence showing a shadowy, pixelated figure standing on the roof nearby watching it all go down. They think it’s Nikki Cross. I guess… because she spends a lot of time hanging out on rooftops? Ok.
