Reports have been circulating for the last week that 16-time world champion John Cena is refusing to make the trip to the controversial kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he was scheduled to compete in this Friday’s WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view.
WWE officially pulled Cena from the card this week on Monday Night Raw, when red brand General Manager Baron Corbin awarded Bobby Lashley a spot in the WWE World Cup tournament taking place at Crown Jewel.

Corbin claimed that the Destroyer’s path of dominance over the last few weeks has been more than enough to prove he deserves a spot in the Cup, while Cena was simply awarded his entry without doing anything to earn it. Lashley will join Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler from Raw as well as Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, The Miz and Rey Mysterio for an 8-man tournament to determine “the best in the world”.
