WWE closed out the ThunderDome era with last night’s Money in the Bank go-home edition of Raw.
Heading into his WWE Championship defense against Kofi Kingston at Sunday’s pay-per-view, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley lost a non-title match to Xavier Woods last night. Woods used an inside cradle to pin Lashley after Lashley got cocky and refused to pin Woods after hitting a spear.
Lashley was furious at the loss. During a VIP Lounge segment at the end of the show, Lashley said Kingston was right when Kingston said MVP had caused Lashley to lose his edge. Lashley wasn’t happy that MVP was trying to cheer him up with champagne and women. Lashley told MVP that this “bullsh*t” needs to stop and they need to get back to business. Lashley said the only enjoyment he wants to have from now on is destroying every single soul that tries to come after his WWE Championship.
Lashley dismantled the VIP Lounge set and then sent a message to Kingston, threatening to end Kingston’s career at Money in the Bank.
The final build to Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair’s Raw Women’s Championship match at Money in the Bank saw Charlotte attack Ripley last night. After Ripley defeated Natalya in a non-title match, Charlotte chop blocked Ripley and put her in the Figure Four.
A new title match was also added to Money in the Bank last night. It was announced that AJ Styles & Omos will be defending their titles against The Viking Raiders at Sunday’s PPV. That match was originally scheduled for next week’s Raw.
Ivar defeated Styles in a singles match last night, while Omos defeated Erik.
Ricochet took on John Morrison in a falls count anywhere match last night. Both Ricochet and Morrison will be participants in Sunday’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Plus, Raw’s women’s Money in the Bank participants faced off in a fatal four-way match.
