Former F1 driver Carlos Reutemann has reportedly left the intensive care unit at Rosario’s Sanatorio Parque clinic after the Argentinian Senator’s physical condition improved following a case of digestive hemorrhage.
Reutemann was recently admitted to a hospital in Sante Fe after suffering from anemia and internal bleeding. But the 79-year-old’s condition required his transfer to Rosario where he underwent an endoscopic procedure and remained in the ICU.
The twelve-time Grand Prix winner was said to be in stable condition after last Tuesday’s intervention. On Sunday, it was reported that Reutemann’s sustained improving health allowed for his transfer out of IC and into a private room at Rosario’s Sanatorio Parque.
“This morning the national senator and former governor Carlos Reutemann, who has been hospitalized in Rosario since Saturday, May 8, after being in intensive care for several days, he was transferred to the general ward,” reported Argentine newspaper La Capital.
