Chelsea team news: Confirmed XI to face Arsenal as Eden Hazard plays false nine again

Posted on March 1, 2019

Chelsea can take a significant step towards Champions League qualification with victory over Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday evening.

Three points would see the Blues climb above Tottenham into third and create a nine-point gap to the Gunners.

However, Maurizio Sarri’s men have claimed just one win from their previous three Premier League games and their 2-1 victory over Newcastle last weekend was far from convincing.

You can listen to live commentary from the Emirates on talkSPORT, kick-off 5.30pm.

Chelsea team news

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is the only player missing through injury as the Blues name an unchanged line-up from the Newcastle win.

That means Eden Hazard continues up front in a false nine role and former Arsenal man Olivier Giroud starts on the bench.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Pedro, Hazard, Willian.

Subs: Barkley, Caballero, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi, Christensen, Emerson Palmieri, Ampadu.
