The latest update on Bobby Lashley’s official website, posted on February 1, 2008, talks about Lashley encouraging and coaching high school wrestlers at the Junction City High School wrestling tournament last Saturday, January 26th. What I found interesting about the update, which features quotes from Lashley, talks as if Lashley is still with World Wrestling Entertainment.
The article calls Lashley a “WWE wrestler” and features him talking about breaking in the professional wrestling business. “(I) went up there for about a year and a half just to learn to change … into professional wrestling,” Lashley said in the update. “Vince (McMahon, chairman of WWE) liked me. He said, ‘That guy looks great. He is a (great) athlete and he knows what he’s doing. Get him out there,” he continued. The update notes that he has been out of the ring with a shoulder injury since August 2007.
Below the most recent update is the statement (posted on January 28, 2008) where his official website says that Lashley will not be returning to WWE. As we reported a couple of weeks ago, Bobby Lashley told WrestlingNewsWorld.com’s Ryan Gray that he would not be returning and despite the fact an official announcement was not made, WWE removed his profile from their official website.
