— WWE has signed Joe Hennig, son of WWE Hall of Famer “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig and grandson of Larry “The Axe” Hennig, to a developmental contract. Joe made his wrestling debut last July. He appeared in a tag match on SmackDown last September, but never tagged in. Here is the official statement from the website of Harley Race’s World League Wrestling:
Joe Hennig, son of WWE Hall of Famer “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig and grandson of Larry “the Ax” Hennig, recently became the latest Harley Race Wrestling Academy graduate to earn a developmental contract with WWE.
Hennig made his pro debut July 13, 2007, teaming with Ted DiBiase, Jr. to beat Dinn T. Moore and Branden Tatum by disqualification. He enjoyed a nine-month winning streak in World League Wrestling before suffering his first singles loss to “Wild” Wade Chism on March 8.
Hennig will report to Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE’s developmental territory in Tampa. His sister, Amy, is also a student at the Harley Race Wrestling Academy.
— WWE Hall of Famer Bobby “The Brain” Heenan recently returned home after spending the last several months in the hospital. In December 2007, Heenan had reconstructive surgery on his jaw, after the first surgery was unsuccessful. Heenan is still unable to speak.
— WWE did not gimmick the Raw table at WrestleMania, in which HBK did the Asai moonsault during his match with Ric Flair. He did the move, expecting the table to break, but it didn’t. When they do table spots during shows, they remove most of the support so that it will collapse upon impact.
