Opening Betting Odds: Is CM Punk A Favorite Or Underdog In His UFC Debut?

Posted on December 9, 2020

As noted, the CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall fight has been officially announced for the UFC 203 pay-per-view event in September. Now that the fight is official, early betting lines are starting to be released.

In what shouldn’t come as a surprise to any real MMA fans, former WWE Superstar CM Punk has opened as a betting underdog to Gall, who will be competing in his third professional MMA fight and second UFC fight when the two meet in September.

Online betting website Bovada.lv released their opening odds on the Punk-Gall fight, and have Punk set as a pretty considerable underdog.

The website has Punk listed at +265, while Gall opened at -300. What this means is that if you bet $100 bet on Punk, and he pulls off the upset victory, you would pocket $265 profit on top of your $100 bet. On the flip-side of the coin, because Gall is a -300 favorite, it will take you a $300 bet for a Gall victory to earn you $100 profit.

CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall is scheduled to take place at UFC 203 on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
