Ricochet to defend NXT North American Title against Regal’s hand-chosen opponent
Ask and you shall receive.
After requesting to defend his NXT North American Title when he returns to Full Sail Live this week on NXT TV, Ricochet is confirmed for action against a challenger handpicked by NXT General Manager William Regal.
The One and Only declared that he’d face whomever NXT management can find for him, prompting Regal to tweet that he has “someone in mind.”
As the top authority figure in NXT, not to mention one of the most influential people in sports-entertainment, Regal’s contact list is no doubt overflowing with talented Superstars who’d knock down doors for an opportunity to challenge for the NXT North American crown. Now, just one question remains: Who will end up stepping toe-to-toe with Ricochet this Wednesday on WWE Network?
EC3 searches for vindication against Bobby Fish
A huge grudge match is on tap for Wednesday when EC3 goes one-on-one with Undisputed ERA’s Bobby Fish, whose vicious steel-chair attack put EC3 out of action for weeks.
Fish and the rest of Undisputed ERA brutalized The Top One Percent after EC3 pinned Adam Cole on the Oct. 24 edition of WWE NXT. Though each of the ERA members got shots in on NXT’s “Golden God,” Fish escalated the ambush by bashing EC3’s knee with a chair.
Since returning to the ring late last month, EC3 has been singularly focused on repaying Fish for the attack, even stating on a recent NXT Post-Show that his goal is to put Fish, who recently came back from a torn ACL, back on the injured list. Expect fireworks when these Superstars lock up this week on WWE Network.
The calm before the storm of Black vs. Gargano
Thanks to a suggestion by NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa and a ruling by NXT General Manager William Regal, bitter rivals Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano are headed for a collision inside a steel cage next week.
As that huge TakeOver: WarGames II rematch fast approaches, what’s going through the minds of the enraged Dutch Destroyer and the ever-obstinate Johnny Wrestling? Check out NXT this Wednesday to hear from both Superstars before they throw down in the unforgiving confines of a steel cage.
Mia Yim, Reina González battle in Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match
The NXT Universe will find out who will join Bianca Belair and Lacey Evans in the NXT Women’s Championship No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match when the dangerously skilled Mia Yim and the ferocious Reina González square off in a Qualifying Match this week on NXT.
The Fatal 4-Way Match, which will take place on Dec. 26 and determine champion Shayna Baszler’s challenger at TakeOver: Phoenix, has been the talk of the NXT Women’s division since NXT General Manager William Regal first announced it last week. Regal already ruled that Belair and Evans are in, meaning two spots are still to be filled.
Can The Head Baddie in Charge, who has been riding a feel-good wave of momentum since joining the black-and-gold brand, rise to the occasion? Or will González, a scary-intense second-generation grappler who describes herself as “a little bit of sunshine mixed with a little hurricane,” stop Yim dead in her tracks? Find out this Wednesday when NXT streams at 8/7 C on the award-winning WWE Network.
Burch & Lorcan seeing red after Mighty ambush
Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan snared a hard-fought victory over The Mighty two weeks ago, but that didn’t stop Shane Thorne & Nick Miller from heinously assaulting the Brit-Am brawlers after the three-count.
With that scene fresh in the minds of all four Superstars, the duos are set to throw down again this week in a hotly anticipated rematch. While their duel last month was a master class in tag team wrestling that ended up tainted by The Mighty’s unscrupulous actions, this week’s bout is bound to be brimming with bad intentions from the opening bell.
