The upcoming Raw pay-per-view Great Balls of Fire has certainly managed to get the wrestling community talking since it was announced earlier this year. From the unusual title to the logo of the show, it seems as if everyone has an opinion about the new WWE Network exclusive show. As of right now, only one match is confirmed for the show. That match is, of course, the main event between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe for the Universal Championship. However, here are some of the matches that are rumored to be taking place.
The show will reportedly be filled with tons of rematches from the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. The company’s SummerSlam pay-per-view is coming up in August, and they may just be killing time with this show. In any case, the matches are as follows:
The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro & Sheamus for the Raw Tag Team Championships
The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship
Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Championship
Undercard matches include Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt, as well as Goldust vs. R-Truth likely on the pre-show. Along with the announced main event, these are the rumored matches thus far. The card is still subject to change.
Keep in mind that WWE likely doesn’t want to have “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns or Finn Balor miss a big show like this, so other matches featuring top Raw stars not mentioned here will likely be added on eventually. Braun Strowman is set to face Brock Lesnar for the championship soon, so that may telegraph the outcome of the main event, but the main event has been called a “dream match” before, so hopefully Brock and Joe can put on a hard-hitting classic. The show previously known as ‘Bad Blood’ will take place on July 9th from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
