Big Cass is going to be wrestling The Big Show once again at SummerSlam. The match will also see Cass’ former partner Enzo Amore suspended above the ring in a shark cage. Some fans have been curious as to why this match has the shark cage stipulation. The Dirty Sheets podcast actually claims that WWE is putting Enzo in the cage because they learned that he is deeply afraid of heights. Enzo Amore has reportedly received a ton of backstage heat as of late, he might even be going back to NXT soon as a result. Despite this, the podcast also reports that WWE does not want to fire Enzo since he is an impressive merchandise mover, outselling “many names that would surprise you.”
There was once a time when WWE would barely even give a homegrown TNA talent a look. That stance has obviously been reversed in recent years. We now have the likes of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Eric Young, Bobby Roode and others all working for WWE now. However, current GFW star Sonjay Dutt actually revealed during in interview with WrestlingInc that he turned down an offer from WWE. Dutt worked as a guest trainer at the Performance Center last year before being offered a contract. He cited his age, family, and relationship with Jeff Jarrett as the reasons why he chose GFW over WWE. He currently works as a wrestler and a producer for the company.
WWE seems to have lost another talented superstar due to injury. It looks like the inaugural Cruiserweight Champion TJP has suffered a leg injury of some kind. Earlier in the week, he had been advertised for a match against Rich Swann on 205 Live, but he was replaced in that match by Ariya Daivari. During the match, TJP walked out on the stage on crutches and a knee brace. The whole injury could be an elaborate work though, because neither TJP or WWE have actually confirmed the severity of his injury like they have done recently with Bayley and Scott Dawson. So far, little to no details have been provided on the injury.
