It has been reported for a while now that The Undertaker has not wrestled his last match and that he will indeed be returning at WrestleMania 34 to compete against John Cena. Surprisingly, the match was not set up at all during the 25th anniversary of Raw event, and Cena has also begun a feud with “The Drifter” Elias with no mention of wanting to face the Undertaker. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match between these two WWE Legends was still in the cards as of a few weeks ago, but the belief is that the storyline between them will not begin until some time after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. As of now, it looks like Cena vs. Undertaker is still the direction that the company is headed in.
Impact Wrestling just lost one of their top stars in Bobby Lashley. Since then, promotions such as New Japan Pro Wrestling have reportedly been eager to sign him, but the belief now is that he will be coming back to WWE soon for a feud with Brock Lesnar. In an update provided by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company is still very interested in putting together a feud between the two men, but it sounds like the possibility of a match ever happening entirely depends on whether or not Lesnar decides to stay with WWE after WrestleMania 34. If Lesnar does stick around past WrestleMania on April 8th, expect to see the two heavyweights compete against each other not long after the event concludes.
It was genuinely surprising when Rey Mysterio returned to WWE during the men’s Royal Rumble match a few weeks ago. While it was just a one-off appearance from Mysterio, some fans were shocked to see him appear at all since he had reportedly been negotiating with Impact Wrestling beforehand. According to PWInsider, a deal for a debut date and travel arrangements had been made by the promotion for Mysterio. It wasn’t until Impact star Konnan (Mysterio’s representative) got involved that the deal began to fall apart and was never actually finalized. Details on why the deal went south as quickly as it did remains scarce. Mysterio had been scheduled to appear at the Impact television tapings in April, but that now appears unlikely due to the fact that WWE reportedly is interested in bringing Mysterio back for good.
