It was an huge night for The UFC this past weekend at UFC 226 as Brock Lesnar returned to the octagon and challenged new heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Moments after Cormier defeated Miocic, the new two-division champion invited Lesnar into the Octagon. Lesnar, a former UFC heavyweight Champion and current WWE Universal Champion, entered the Octagon and shoved Cormier. UFC President Dana White then recapped the action during his post-fight interview on FOX Sports 1 and confirmed that the fight will indeed be taking place at a later date.
Cormier is unbeaten as a heavyweight and he is also the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. He knocked out Stipe Miocic this past Saturday night to capture the UFC Heavyweight Title. Lesnar returned from retirement to defeat Mark Hunt, but that result was overturned to a no-contest when he failed a drug test. Lesnar is the current WWE Universal Champion.
