Abyss Joins Impact HOF, NXT Star Returns, Evolution Match SPOILER

Posted on July 19, 2020

The Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame has been inducting those who have contributed to the growth of the promotion for just about every year since it was launched in 2012. Although no Hall of Fame induction was announced last year, Impact has confirmed that there will be a new inductee this year, and the honor will go to none other than Abyss. Abyss has been with Impact since their beginning in 2002, and he has captured the TNA World Tag Team Championships, the X Division Championship, the TNA Television Championship, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, and he has earned several other accolades during his time with the promotion as well. Abyss still competes in Impact Wrestling today, and he is also a backstage producer and a member of the creative team.

It is our absolute honor and privilege to announce that “The Monster” @TherealAbyss will be the 2018 inductee into the IMPACT Hall of Fame. #IMPACTonPop pic.twitter.com/s4XlpQdFqg

Former NXT Champion Aleister Black has been out of action for a number of weeks now due to a groin injury that he received earlier this year. After the injury occurred, WWE ran a storyline wherein Black was attacked in the parking lot of Full Sail University by a mystery assailant in order to write him off of the show. According to fans in attendance for last night’s NXT tapings, Black returned during a match between Nikki Cross and Bianca Belair. Now that Black is back on NXT programming, the wrestler will likely be on the hunt for the person who attacked him, but there is still no word on who that person was at the moment. Expect to see Aleister Black’s return on an episode of NXT within the next few weeks.

WWE’s Evolution pay-per-view will be taking place towards the end of October, and the company has already announced that the finals of the Mae Young Classic will be taking place during that show, along with the Alexa Bliss vs. Trish Stratus match and Lita vs. Mickie James. During last night’s NXT tapings, another match for the Evolution show was confirmed. Former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler will be invoking her rematch clause and will take on current champion, Kairi Sane, for the title at Evolution. This will mark the fourth match between Baszler and Sane in WWE. WWE has said that over 50 women will be appearing at the Evolution event, so it will be interesting to see what else gets added to the show between now and October 28th.

Scoop #13: Shayna Baszler Out, she wants a rematch, Kairi says it will be at WWE Evolution
