With all eight participants for it announced, WWE has confirmed the bracket for 205 Live’s number one contender’s tournament.
The left side of the bracket has Tony Nese vs. Drew Gulak in the semifinals. The tournament began on this Tuesday’s episode of 205 Live, with Nese and Gulak both winning their first round matches. Nese defeated Kalisto, while Gulak defeated Brian Kendrick.
The right side has Humberto Carrillo vs. NXT’s Oney Lorcan and Cedric Alexander vs. Akira Tozawa. Those matches are taking place on next week’s 205 Live. The winners will face each other in the semifinals.
Buddy Murphy will defend his Cruiserweight Championship against the winner of the tournament at WrestleMania 35, which is taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 7.
WWE has set up that Murphy won’t be on 205 Live for the next few weeks, with him claiming that he’s going on a “well-deserved vacation” back to Melbourne, Australia.
