MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team (2-7, 1-5 NSIC) will host the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs on Saturday afternoon at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse. The dual is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

The Dragons are coming off a 36-9 win over the Northern State Wolves last Saturday night. In that dual, the Dragons got wins from eight of their 10 wrestlers, including pins from freshman Cole Jones (125) and redshirt freshman Jordan Magnuson (285). Sophomore Preston Lehmann won a tech fall at 197 pounds, while three Dragons won decisions on the night.
The top wrestler for the Dragons so far this season is junior Adam Blees, who is 14-8 on the season at 174. Jones is right behind him with a 15-11 record at 125, while Magnuson is 12-9 on the season. Freshman Joe Schumacher has wrestled two matches for the Dragons and has two wins.

The Dragons are led by head coach Kris Nelson, who is in his ninth season as head coach.
About the Mustangs
Southwest Minnesota State is 7-6 on the season, with a 2-4 conference mark. They were last in action on Saturday when they beat Minot State 23-17. In that dual, the Mustangs got pins from Trent Butcher and Justin Haneke, along with a tech fall from Griffin Osing. Prior to facing the Dragons, they will face MSU Mankato on Friday night.
The Mustangs are led by Cortez Arredondo, who is 15-6 on the season. Right behind him is Haneke, who is 15-7 and Andrew Petersen, who also has a 15-7 record. Taylor Curtis has a 12-8 record at 133 pounds for the Mustangs.
Southwest Minnesota State is led by head coach Jesse Nelson, who is in his 11th season as the Mustang head coach.

After the dual, the Dragons will finish the regular season on Feb. 15, when they host the Minot State Beavers. After that they will head to St. Cloud on Feb. 23-24 for the Super Region 3 tournament.
