Nearly a week after their UK TV deal was announced, AEW has their Canadian TV partner locked and loaded.
First reported by PWInsider and confirmed by Dave Meltzer, AEW Dynamite will air on TSN, Canada’s top all-sports network. They announced the deal Tuesday night with a press release.
The show will air live on one of their national channels as well as on their digital streaming platforms and their app, subject to scheduling changes. For October, the first four weeks will air on TSN2 with the fifth week airing on TSN3. The show will also be available on demand for TSN subscribers.
There is a considerable history between TSN and pro wrestling as WWE, WCW, AWA, and Stampede Wrestling have appeared on their airwaves over the years in addition to Michael Landsberg conducting several notable wrestling interviews on his Off The Record show.
ITV announced last Wednesday that Dynamite will air on ITV4 Sunday mornings, a four-day delay followed by a one-hour highlight show on Monday nights. They also announced AEW Plus, a Fite.TV powered service that will let international viewers watch the show live for $4.99 a month. After some negative reaction, AEW president Tony Khan tweeted last Thursday that he is trying to work with ITV to air it on Thursdays.
AEW Dynamite debuts at 8 PM Eastern this Wednesday on TNT in the U.S.
