-Konnan is coming out of retirement and wrestling for the first time in five years for the MLW “Battle Riot” taking place July 19 in Queens, N.Y. at the Melrose Ballroom. The Battle Riot is the main event of the Fusion TV taping. “It’s an immense honor to have Konnan come out of retirement and do his thing in an MLW ring — especially in NYC,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “The legend returns and I’m so glad he said yes. July 19th’s Battle Riot is going to be a special night in wrestling.” Participants announced thus far include: John Morrison, “Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan, ACH, Davey Boy Smith Jr., Teddy Hart, Rich Swann, Pentagon Jr., Jimmy Yuta, Jake Hager, Swoggle, Lance Anoa’i, “PCO” Pierre Carl Ouellet, Konnan, and more to be announced soon. Also on the show: The Hart Foundation (Teddy Hart & Davey Boy Smith Jr. with Brian Pillman II) vs. Rich Swann & ACH. A mash-up of a battle royal, royal rumble and anything goes street fight, the Battle Riot is a super-sized main event which will feature 40 wrestlers with new participants entering the ring every 60 seconds.
