Teased on last week’s AEW Dynamite, Cody Rhodes confirmed Saturday that Lance Archer will make his promotional debut on this week’s edition of the show.
Following a Jake Roberts promo in which they reiterated he and Archer’s desire to face him, Rhodes said that it was fine for Archer to debut but not against him, something he also reiterated on Twitter:
I appreciate Lance & his skillset. AEW is glad to have him. I’m not interested in social media angles though. He will debut this week, but not against me. He has zero record with AEW, me wrestling him does a disservice to others climbing into the Top-5. Maybe down the road.

Archer was supposed to debut earlier this month after signing a multi-year deal with AEW, but he didn’t appear as advertised. Several weeks later, he came out with Roberts as his new project.
As of now, his debut is the only thing official for Dynamite which is expected to again be live this week from the empty Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
