HOUSTON, TX — All 10 candidates who qualified for the third Democractic presidential debate will share the stage in Houston on Thursday. It’ll be the first time that three candidates who have consistently led in the polls — former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren — will get to make their case to voters at the same time on national television.
Unlike previous debates when qualifying candidates have been split up into two groups, Thursday’s debate is the first for the 2020 election that will air in full on one night. The debate will begin at 8 p.m. EST, and is scheduled to end at 11 p.m. EST. Candidates will deliver opening statements but will not present closing statements.
The debate will air nationally on the ABC Television Network and on Univision, where there will be a Spanish translation. Univision will also broadcast the debate live on its digital platforms, including Facebook, YouTube and Persicope. You can also watch a livestream of the debate on ABC News Live, Roku, Hulu, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube, Apple News, Facebook and Twitter. You can also watch it on the ABC News, Good Morning America and FiveThirtyEight apps. Locally, the debate will air on KTRK-TV.
Below are all the candidates who qualified for the third debate and the order in which they will appear on the stage:
ABC News says the highest polling candidates will appear near the center. According to polling averages from RealClearPolitics, Biden holds a 9.5 point national lead over Bernie Sanders, who is second in the RCP average. Warren slightly trails Sanders who has a half-point edge over the Massachusetts Senator. (You can find more information on polling via RCP.)
The debate will be moderated by ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos, “World News Tonight” anchor and managing editor David Muir, ABC news correspondent Linsey Davis and Univision anchor Jorge Ramos. Each candidate will get one minute and 15 seconds to directly respond to questions from moderators and 45 seconds to respond to follow-up questions and rebuttals.
The venue for the debate is Texas Southern University, a historically black university extablished in 1946.
