Chelsea offer Callum Hudson-Odoi £70,000-a-week deal amid Bayern Munich transfer interest

Posted on March 1, 2019

Chelsea have reportedly offered Callum Hudson-Odoi a new £70,000-a-week contract in an attempt to ward off interest from Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga giants have bid £35million for the winger, whose contract expires in 18 months’ time.

Hudson-Odoi, 18, is yet to start a Premier League match and has made just nine appearances this season – though his game time has increased over the past couple of weeks.

The youngster is allegedly ready to run down his Chelsea contract if they refuse to sell him this month, with the view of joining Bayern on a free transfer in summer 2020.

But the Daily Mail say Chelsea have made a final attempt to keep hold of their starlet by offering him a staggering £70,000-a-week deal.

Hudson-Odoi believes he will be offered more first-team opportunities at Bayern Munich, who have reportedly offered him the number 10 shirt currently worn by Arjen Robben.

The youngster started Chelsea’s first leg defeat to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-final earlier this month.

However, the Blues academy star finds himself behind Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro in the Stamford Bridge pecking order.

The new deal offered by Chelsea shows how much they value Hudson-Odoi.

He will be one of the world’s highest-paid teenagers if he commits his future to Chelsea.
