Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Lazio hotshot Ciro Immobile, according to reports.
Both Premier League sides are looking to bolster their attacking options in January with Chelsea in desperate need of a reliable goalscorer.
However, the Reds may just have the upper hand as they are going to send a scout to watch the Italy international against Napoli in Serie A on Sunday, according to Il Messagero.
Liverpool also have a reasonable relationship with Lazio, having allowed Luis Alberto and Lucas Leiva join the club in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interest in Immobile will only be formalised if a propose deal for Gonzalo Higuain falls through.
The Blues are believed to have agreed the signing of Higuain from Juventus, with the Argentina international to join Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the season with the club able to extend his stay for a further 12 months or buy him outright this summer.
Immobile, 28, has scored 80 goals in 112 appearances for Lazio.
