West Ham’s Robert Snodgrass insists Marko Arnautovic is training well and is fully focused on his job for the Hammers despite links with a move away from the club.
Arnautovic has been offered a lucrative deal to join a club in the Chinese Super League, and is said to be keen to make it happen.
The Hammers have already rejected a £35million bid for their star man, but are bracing themselves for an improved £40m offer from the unnamed Chinese side.
Reports claim Arnautovic could earn up to £400,000 in China, and at 29 years old he feels it’s too good an offer to turn down.
It’s West Ham’s call though, and they are desperate to keep hold of their star man and joint-top scorer this season with eight goals.
There have been fears from fans that the speculation could unsettle their key forward this month and, if he stays, for the rest of the season.
But Snodgrass insists there has been no change to Arnautovic’s work-rate.
“To be honest Marko has been great – he’s trained great over the last few days,” the Scottish star told talkSPORT host Jim White.
“I don’t know the situation, but if Marko needs to I’m sure he’ll speak to the lads.
“Listen, he’s been around transfer speculation for a long time because he’s a top player.
“He handles himself really well and on the pitch he’s a terrific talent, he’s one of the best strikers I’ve played with.
“He’s a great lad as well, and that’s the moment important thing. It’s most important we stick together as a team because we’ve got something going great at west ham just now and we’re building on it, so long may it continue.”
