There’s a history of political violence in West Bengal. It gets really ugly at times and ends up claiming innocent lives. In yet another political brawl a three-year-old boy has sustained bullet injury in Manikchak area of Malda district. According to reports, a tussle broke out between the supporters of Trinamool Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party. The victim is the son of an elected BJP Panchayat member, who later switched to the ruling TMC.
The boy, identified as Mrinal is the son of Putul Mondal who won the rural body election in Manikchak village on a BJP ticket. TMC allegedly tried to lure him with money after Manikchak gram panchayat elections on August 28/29.
