Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could return from injury in early March, according to reports.
The Liverpool midfielder was expected to be sidelined for the entire season after damaging knee ligaments last April.
He played a key role in the Reds’ road to the Champions League final last season, scoring in the quarter-final defeat of Manchester City.
However, he suffered his injury in the first leg of the semi-final victory over Roma, ruling him out of the Kiev showpiece.
Despite an early prognosis keeping Oxlade-Chamberlain out until the end of 2018/19, The Mirror claim his rehabilitation has gone so well he should be able to return to full training by mid-February.
It would give the England international, 25, a realistic chance of being part of Liverpool’s title charge for the remaining two months of the campaign.
The former Arsenal ace is alread training on grass and doing ball work.
Last week, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “He is close, very close, and in a really good way.
“That will still take a couple of, last time I put a bit of pressure on the medical department.
“But when I see him moving the ball and what he’s doing already it looks really good, promising, close to return.”
Liverpool are in the midst of a defensive injury crisis with Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold currently stuck on the sidelines.
