Adrien Rabiot has reportedly been forced to train with the Paris Saint-Germain reserves as he looks to run down his contract with the club.
The 23-year-old is a free agent in the summer and has so far refused to sign a new agreement with the Ligue 1 club.
Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with the talented France international.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel revealed this week that Rabiot was not available for selection this weekend.
It has been reported by some media the player he is now training with the reserves on the orders of president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
“I have to prepare my team for Guingamp and it will be a team without Adrien Rabiot,” said Tuchel of the situation, as report Goal.
“I respect the club’s decision. And it is a decision of the club.”
PSG may want to cash in on him now, though, and let him leave in the January transfer window for a fee rather than let him go for nothing in the summer.
Barcelona are heavy favourites for his signature with the Spanish Liga club even issuing a statement saying no deal is in place to sign him.
One destination that seems unlikely for Rabiot is Tottenham Hotspur as he believes the north London club are “below” his level.
Chelsea are another side linked with Rabiot and manager Maurizio Sarri explained he is still looking for more options in midfield.
Jorginho has been a regular this season, but his boss said he is showing signs of tiredness.
“Jorginho played with me for four seasons, so it’s very difficult for him to improve more,” Sarri said. “He played very well for 20 matches. He’s the player in the Premier League that touched the highest number of balls, I think.
“Maybe in the last two matches he was a bit tired. He moved the ball a bit more slowly than before but I think that’s normal. You cannot stay at the top for 60 matches, so it’s normal to have a difficult period, when you are not the same as usual. It’s not a big problem but that’s the reason I said we need a replacement for Cesc [Fabregas].”
