Former Manchester City and Liverpool man Mario Balotelli has joined Marseille from Nice.
The Italian striker, joins Marseille on a deal until the end of the season after he was released early from his contract at Nice.
Balotelli passed his medical earlier on Wednesday, with Marseille coach Rudi Garcia calling the move a “number one priority”.
He last played for Nice on December 4th following a dispute with manager Patrick Vieira.
The 28-year-old was billed as one of the most exciting up and coming talents as a youngster but has largely failed to fulfil his potential.
However, he did help City win the Premier League title in 2011/12 but didn’t win anything during his one season at Liverpool.
He joined Nice on a free transfer from the Reds in 2016, scoring 42 goals in 64 games in his first two seasons in France.
But he was dropped by the Italy national team in September and was unable to find the net in his last ten games for Nice this season.
Marseille are seventh in Ligue 1, ahead of Nice on goal difference, despite struggling to find the net this season.
He is not expected to start Marseille’s Ligue 1 match at home to Lille on Friday.
