Manchester United’s season appears to have turned round completely in the past month.
On December 18, Jose Mourinho was sacked after leading the club to their worst Premier League start in history.
Fast forward to the present day, and the mood is considerably brighter under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Having won his first six games in charge in all competitions, the ‘Baby-Faced Assassin’ is also getting the best out of his players.
Paul Pogba seems rejuvenated in midfield and Marcus Rashford has now scored four goals in five Premier League games since Solskjaer’s appointment; compared to three under Mourinho prior to the Portuguese manager’s sacking.
However, the January transfer window always presents the opportunity to bring in new faces to freshen up squad and United are no exception.
Having signed Alexis Sanchez last year for exorbitant wages, the club may wish to invest in younger players whilst getting rid of some of the remaining deadwood.

Coutinho deal unlikely this month
In one of the most bizarre transfer rumours of the current window, former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho was linked with a move to Manchester United.
Having left the Reds last year, the Brazil midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at the Camp Nou and a move to United was mooted.
However, the deal seems unlikely this month as journalist David Aymoral explained to ESPN.
“A deal looks rather unlikely in January, since the Blaugrana would want more than €100 million to even consider the departure of the crown jewel of their transfer campaign last winter.”
Douglas Costa also linked with summer move
Like international teammate Coutinho, Douglas Costa has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The Juventus winger was initially linked with a swap move for Paul Pogba, although rumours have ceased since Mourinho departed.
Reports in Italy suggest United are still interested in a deal, with Calciomercato reporting Juve will name their price in the summer as they do not want to sell this month.
Brooks to be offered deal to ward off United interest
David Brooks is set to be offered a new deal to ward off interest from United and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to The Sun, United were targeting a move for the Wales international this summer.
However, the Cherries are prepared to double Brooks’ wages to £50,000-a-week in order to stave off interest from the Premier League big boys.
Marouane Fellaini set for exit
After five-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, Marouane Fellaini seems finally set for the exit door at Old Trafford.
Having been barely used by Solskjaer since the Norwegian took temporary charge, the Belgium midfielder seems set to move on.
According to the Daily Mirror, AC Milan, Porto and Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande are all interested in the 31-year-old.

United ‘scout’ Eredivisie starlet
United have reportedly sent scouts to watch PSV Eingdhoven starlet Steven Bergjwin ahead of a potential move.
Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 21-year-old, who has scored nine times in 16 Eredivisie games already this season.
The Sun claim the Red Devils are prepared to make a £25million bid for the winger this month.
Bergjwin has made two international appearances for the Netherlands and is likely to feature against England in the Nations League semi-final in June.
Merseyside or Manchester for Porto ace
United face competition for Porto starlet Eder Militao from Everton and Liverpool.
The 20-year-old, who can play at centre-back or right-back, only joined the Portuguese side in the summer.
However, the trio of interested Premier League clubs are willing to test the club’s resolve and Brazilian outlet UOL claim a bid come come this month.
Militao has a €42.5million release clause written into his contract.
