Alternative Premier League table after 23 games, based on expected goals

Posted on March 1, 2019

The Premier League had plenty of twists and turns once again at the weekend with Liverpool snatching a victory after titanic tussle with Crystal Palace.

At points it looked like Jurgen Klopp and his side would lose their second game of the season and allow Manchester City, who dispatched Huddersfield Town with ease on Sunday, to gain on them.

It also looked like Tottenham Hotspur were set to blunder yesterday but a later Harry Winks header spared their blushes against the Fulham.

Meanwhile, there were excellent wins for Newcastle United and Manchester United, and Arsenal secured a victory over Chelsea at the Emirates to keep themselves in the hunt for a top four spot.

But how has the weekend’s action changed the alternative Premier League table based on expected goals?

Here at talkSPORT.com we’re always keeping an eye on Understat.com to see how players and clubs are performing based on their xG stats.

Find out how the stats believe the Premier League SHOULD be shaping up below…
