#GetOnBoard with NFCA pre and post-Convention educational opportunities

Posted on August 30, 2019

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Every year the NFCA National Convention provides its attendees with an abundance of educational opportunities. Additionally, coaches can continue their education by attending one of the Association’s three National Fastpitch Coaches College (NFCC) courses or take part in one of two pre-Convention seminars.

The NFCC courses bookend (Dec. 3-4 & Dec. 7-8) the Convention program, while the seminars are offered on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. ET. These excellent educational opportunities, taught by some of the top coaches in the sport, were created to help coaches continue to enhance their professional skills.

There is an additional cost for these course as they are NOT included in the Convention registration fee.

The 2019 NFCA National Convention is being held Dec. 4-7 at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. For more information and to register, click on the links provided.

Assistant Coach University

Get some great ideas on how you can build trust, manage conflict and invest in your growth during this three-hour session with Slater.Joining us for the first time at Convention, will lead a discussion of trust — what it is, and how to build it — and provide an opportunity to learn basic skills to help you move through conflicts, and find ways to grow using feedback as a tool. The seminar will share ideas and direct you to resources to help build trust with your team, provide a step-by-step process to plan for confrontational discussions, and show you how to “bridge the gap” that sometimes exists between coaches, their supervisors, their staff, and student-athletes.

Pitch Perfect: Set ‘Em Up & Sit ‘Em Down!

Join Trisha Ford (Arizona State), Kyla Holas (More Than a Game), Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro (Alabama) and Michelle Gascoigne (Northwestern) as they take a deep dive into individual pitch development. They will teach you specific drills used to increase speed, enhance spin, and improve accuracy for those same pitches. When you leave this seminar, you will have a better understanding and maybe picked up something new on the drop, rise, curve, and change-up.
