Tottenham forward Lucas Moura has stated the knock he sustained in his side’s win against Tranmere earlier this month is “still painful” but he is hoping to be “ready as soon as possible”.
The Brazilian was responding to a fan asking for an update about his fitness on Twitter.
The former PSG man wrote: “The knock was strong, it is still painful. I am doing full time treatment to be ready as soon as possible”.
Spurs are in the middle of a player availability crisis, with Harry Kane sidelined until March and Heung-Min Son now at the Asian Cup.
Pochettino could utilise Moura in the centre-forward position to accommodate the loss of Kane. He has played that role in spells this season alongside the England international to reasonable success.
Spurs fans are desperate for the 26-year-old to be declared fit with their attacking options now significantly limited.

Another option Pochettino could turn to is Fernando Llorente. The Spaniard, 33, has played just 36 minutes of Premier League action this season but recently scored a hat-trick against Tranmere, the same game Moura sustained his injury.
Tottenham travel to Craven Cottage this weekend to face Fulham.
