Celtic have already completed three signings but it appears their January business is not done.
Scotland’s reigning champions are expected to wrap up a deal for young American Andrew Gutman over the coming days, and other players have been linked with moving to and from Parkhead.
Brendan Rodgers hopes to strengthen his squad to fight off Rangers’ title challenge, with the Hoops going for eight-in-a-row and a third consecutive domestic treble.
But what deals could Celtic complete over the final fortnight of the January transfer window? talkSPORT.com round up the latest transfer gossip concerning the Hoops, below…
Celtic to fight Rangers, Leeds and Norwich for midfielder
Fulham teenager Matt O’Riley has emerged as a target of the Hoops, though they must fight off a lot of interest to secure the 18-year-old’s signature.
According to Sky Sports, Rangers, Leeds and Norwich are, along with Celtic, considering bidding for O’Riley, who plays in midfield for Fulham.
He’s been with the west London club since the age of eight, and has reportedly been scouted by Bundesliga sides Stuttgart, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund over recent weeks.
EXCLUSIVE talkSPORT information on two signings
talkSPORT host Jim White has some exclusive Celtic transfer news, confirming a meeting is to be held to discuss Omar Elabdellaoui and James McCarthy moving to Parkhead this month.
Both players have been linked with the Hoops, with Elabdellaoui wanted on a permanent deal and McCarthy, the Everton midfielder, targeted for a loan.
And Jim revealed that a recruitment meeting was planned to discuss the duo signing.
He said on Wednesday: “My understanding is there’s a recruitment meeting today (Wednesday) to discuss two signings Brendan Rodgers would like to make.
“One is the Olympiacos full-back Omar Elabdellaoui. He plays international football for Norway. Also on the agenda is James McCarthy, a possible loan target from Everton. We’ll see how those develop.”
Olivier Ntcham ‘determined to leave’
French midfielder Ntcham has been linked with a transfer to Porto, and O Jogo claim he is ‘determined to leave’ Parkhead this month.
Porto failed with an attempt to sign Ntcham last summer, but their interest in the 22-year-old remains.
Even if the Portuguese outfit are unable to complete a deal for Ntcham this month, they are prepared to return for him when the summer transfer window reopens.
Mbemba offered to Hoops
Porto hope to convince Celtic to sell Ntcham by offering a player-plus-cash deal to the Hoops, including defender Chancel Mbemba.
Brendan Rodgers is believed to have wanted the former Newcastle player throughout the summer, and he is on the market having found himself surplus to requirements since moving to the Estadio do Dragao.
Mbemba is seen as a potential replacement for Dedryck Boyata, who is expected to leave Celtic when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Scott McTominay a target
Manchester United midfielder McTominay could leave Old Trafford this month, and Celtic are reportedly keeping tabs on him.
The Daily Mail say Brendan Rodgers is keen on the 22-year-old, who has fallen out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having been a favourite of United’s previous manager Jose Mourinho.
Scotland international McTominay wants guarantees over game time to ensure his development does not stagnate.
