According to L’Équipe, owing to an agreement made between Marseille President Vincent Labrune and French international Lassana Diarra, the defensive midfielder can leave the Ligue 1 side this summer on a free transfer.
This agreement was left of the official contract that Diarra signed that was ratified by the French league, but Labrune still intends to honour this private agreement that was made last summer.
This news has immediately alerted Tottenham Hotspur, who, alongside Manchester United, are the side in the Premier League who are most attentive to the former Real Madrid man’s current contract situation.
Diarra had signed a four year contract with Marseille when he joined last summer, but owing to this clause, he will surely be one of the most heavily sought after French commodities in the forthcoming transfer window.
