17 year old Belgian attacking midfielder Franco Antonucci will join AS Monaco, according to our colleagues at France Football and L’Équipe.
The French daily newspaper has even indicated this morning that Antonucci has already signed a contract with the Principality side, after a €2.5m fee agreement was reached between Ajax and AS Monaco.
In signing the player, who was being watched by Monaco before the arrival of new Sporting Director Antonio Cordon, but since his arrival from Villarreal, Cordon gave the green light to attempt a move for Antonucci, Monaco have beaten Chelsea, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund, with the aforementioned trio also in some form of contact for the player in recent weeks.
Antonucci, who was sold to Anderlecht for €500k at the age of 12, appears set to be Monaco’s latest signing. However, we are unlikely to see him in action for the first team this season.
