For Na Fu, a senior maintenance electrician at a State-owned enterprise in Dalian, Liaoning province, her top priority is to implement and spread the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to accelerate technological growth.

"The report delivered at the congress stated 'accelerating the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy'. For our team, we should make efforts to achieve greater self-reliance and strength in the application of new technologies and the mastery of core technologies," said Na, who participated in the congress as a delegate in October.

The 54-year-old is employed by ZWZ, one of China's leading bearings manufacturers, which is headquartered in Wafangdian, Dalian.

The report mentioned that in pursuing economic growth, we must continue to focus on the real economy, she said.

Na believes the report points out the direction of future development and brings new opportunities for ZWZ, which is in a critical period of transformation and upgrading.

In recent years, the company has strengthened its efforts in independent innovation. A number of technologies for high-end bearings have reached an internationally advanced level.

It boosts more than 20,000 products with independent intellectual property rights that are widely used in wind power, automobiles, rail transit, industrial equipment and other fields around the world.

As a delegate of front-line manufacturing workers, Na said she felt excited and inspired while listening to the report, stressing that she is full of confidence for the future.

"I will spread the spirit of the congress to people around me and encourage them to work with me to make new progress and new achievements," said Na.

Na's apprentice Zhou Jiaqi said he has a deep understanding of the report and was inspired greatly by what Na shared from the congress.

"I was most impressed with these sentences that China's young people of today are living in a remarkable time. They have an incomparably broad stage on which to display their talents, and they have incomparably bright prospects of realizing their dreams," said the 24-year-old.

"Based on my own position, I will keep innovating and contributing to boost our country's strength in manufacturing with the spirit of craftsmanship," he added.

Na worked at ZWZ since she graduated from university in 1990.

In the beginning, she worked in the office but she always found it more interesting working with technicians in the workshop.

When the company bought a numerically controlled machine tool from France in 1993 and selected maintenance staff, she went to the front line without any hesitation.

"At that time, we knew little about the newly imported equipment," Na recalled. "Following master maintenance electrician Zhong Shuanghong, who is also a National Model Worker, I kept studying and made progress step by step."

Over the past 32 years, Na has repaired numerically controlled machine tools more than 1,000 times.

She has also learned to program software systems, promoted electrical system technological transformations and developed substitutes for imported products.

"I deeply realized that only by achieving breakthroughs in key core technologies can we win the respect of others and gain a foothold in the industry," said Na.

According to her, the social status and income of industrial workers have risen as never before, and more young people are willing to use their skills to serve the country.

"Going forward, I will implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress into my daily work, work harder and make more efforts to train more high-quality industrial workers," she said.
