The National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA) recently awarded a scholarship for Fastener Training Week, an advanced fastener technical training program produced by the Fastener Training Institute, to Jeffrey Boushell, an outside sales representative for Wurth Revcar (Roanoke, Virginia).
Jeff’s supervisor, Jamie Farrell, says, “Jeff hit the ground running just over 12 months ago, capitalizing upon his sales training and experience from previous jobs. His intuitive mechanical abilities have allowed him to become an immediate asset to his existing customers. However, in the highly competitive fastener market, we want Jeff to stand out from the crowd.
“Jeff now manages one of our largest new accounts in the company. This particular customer needs a representative that has a high level of fastener knowledge and is able to act quickly, as our engineering team cannot be present in the plant on a weekly basis.
“Jeff excels at relationship-building and has an abundance of energy to go along with it. With a higher level of fastener knowledge, he will be an important asset to his customers as well as the company. He is both a team player and an excellent coach. This is a rare combination – an individual possessing both traits and being able to excel at what he does. His enthusiasm and passion are infectious, which make him a joy to be around. Additionally, I want him to utilize his newfound expertise to inspire his fellow sales representatives to pursue additional fastener expertise and increase their value as a whole.”
Scholarship applicants were evaluated based on the recommendations from their employers, personal achievements, work experience, and an essay. Identifying information was redacted, so that the team evaluating the applications did not know the names or employers of those applying.
The next deadline to apply for an NFDA Fastener Training Week scholarship is December 1. The application can be found here
