Following the arrival of fellow Monaco youngster Yves Dabila, Lille have added a second signing of the day with Chahreddine Boukholda being added to the squad.
The 21-year-old has signed with LOSC that will take him up to the year 2020, much like Dabila earlier in the day.
Boukholda, nicknamed “Chano” joined Monaco in 2011 as a young and exciting attacking midfielder, making his way through the ranks at all age levels. Boukholda played 15 times last season for the Monaco reserve side and his performances obviously caught the eye of new Lille coach Marcelo Bielsa.
“This is a new adventure that begins for me with this great project led by LOSC. From the first contacts, I could see the ambitions of the club,” said an excited Boukholda.
“The proposal to join Bielsa was simply not something to turn down. My style? I am a rather axial offensive midfielder, I play for my teammates, to try and make them score and always to please myself.”
“Chano is a special player, a number ten and very elegant in his game, which has great potential,” added LOSC CEO Marc Ingla. “We are bringing him in for the future. Marcelo Bielsa has eyes everywhere and we know that one of the qualities of our coach is to give opportunities to the young players to integrate the first team. Chano may be one of them, in any case we wish him good luck with his integration.”
