L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side Montpellier have agreed provisional 3-year contracts with two managers as they step up their efforts to replace Michel der Zakarian, whose contract with MHSC expires next month.
The first is current ESTAC Troyes manager Laurent Batlles and the second is Brest boss Olivier Dall’Oglio. Both are under contract with their existing employers, and whoever is able to exit those in a more cost effective way will likely be the individual who Laurent Nicollin taps.
MHSC’s third option is Sabri Lamouchi, who is currently at Al-Duhail after leaving Nottingham Forest earlier this season.
SB29 have no intention of beginning talks about allowing their manager to leave as they are poised to have a relegation showdown on Sunday with PSG. If they finish 18th, Dall’Oglio will then have to lead his side in the Ligue 1 relegation/promotion play-off, which will extend the period during which Brest refuse to talk about the future of their manager, giving a small advantage to Batlles.
