RMC Sport report this afternoon that four Paris Saint-Germain ultras are due to appear in court over allegedly assaulting a Rennes fan and stealing a club banner and flags.
The four men were arrested and placed under legal supervision, and are banned from entering the Ille-et-Vilaine department (of which Rennes is the capital) as well as any Ligue 1 and 2 game. They will go on trial for “theft with violence”.
The alleged events took place in September, when a member of Rennes’ Roazhon Celtik Kop indicated that he had been assaulted in front of his parents’ home after the Rennes-Clermont game. He claims that the four men were armed with tear gas and a collapsible club.
Following an investigation, it was found that the men were members of the Karsud ultras group, made up of around 40 people who no longer attend PSG games, since the 2017-18 season. Two of the suspects have admitted to being on the scene at the time and to have taken some sports bags “without any violence”.
