Ligue 1 21/22, Round 23 – 6/2/22
LORIENT – 2 (Soumano 43, Kone 76)
Matthieu Dreyer, 5
Houboulang Mendes, 4
Julien Laporte, 6
Moritz Jenz, 6
Vincent Le Goff, 6
Bonke Innocent, 7 – Crucial to halting Fofana’s attempts to take control of the midfield and added much more solidity and confidence to Lorient’s often soft centre in winning and attempting more tackles than anyone else. A very promising debut.
Thomas Monconduit, 6
Quentin Boisgard, 5
Sambou Soumano, 6 – He again showed his clinical finishing ability, this time in a first start after two strikes off the bench in the last two games, poking home after a sharp near post run in the first half for the opener.
Armand Laurienté, 8 – His silky dribble and neat cross created the opener for Soumano out of nothing just before half time and he was central to the few openings FCL created otherwise, including a intelligent progressive pass for Diarra to make the second. Worked hard defensively as well.
Terem Moffi, 4
Others: Diarra 6, Kone 6, Le Fee 5, Silva 5.
LENS – 0
Jean-Louis Leca, 5
Jonathan Gradit, 5 – Withdrawn during the first half for Christopher Wooh after an unfortunate injury under no pressure from an opponent. His presence was soon sorely missed.
Kevin Danso, 5
Facundo Medina, 4
Patrick Berg, 5
Seko Fofana, 4 – Unable to take charge of the midfield battle as he can, and is expected to, do and lacked his usual decisiveness and power in running from midfield in a ponderous and meek Lens display overall.
Jonathan Clauss, 3 – Failed to provide the creative impact that Lens rely on and his crossing radar was horribly mis-aligned throughout.
Massadio Haïdara, 5
Gaël Kakuta, 3
Wesley Saïd, 3
Arnaud Kalimuendo, 4
Others: Wooh 4, Costa 5, Doucoure 5, Sotoca 5, Frankowski 5.
