As reported by L’Équipe, Chelsea, AC Milan, Manchester United and Barcelona are all monitoring Christopher Nkunku’s situation at RB Leipzig after the 24-year-old France international attacking midfielder reportedly decided he would like to leave the club this summer.
However, with the former PSG man under contract until 2024, the Bundesliga club have no intention of letting Nkunku leave this summer, say the sports daily. The French press reported last month that RBL had opened contract talks with the player over an extension and club CEO Oliver Mintzlaff had previously insisted in April that “Nkunku will be our player next year”, but nevertheless conceded that “in football, nobody is unsellable”.
Should he be allowed to leave, Nkunku reportedly is much closer to the Premier League than a PSG move, for example, according to Gianluca Di Marzio with PSG sporting director Leonardo not in favour of resigning a club academy product for a much higher fee than he was sold in 2019. Leipzig are reportedly looking for at least €100m to allow Nkunku to leave this off-season.
