Goal are reporting that PSG centre-back Presnel Kimpembe (26) wants to remain at the club this summer amidst interest from Chelsea and an apparent ambivalence, on PSG’s part, to keep hold of their academy product.
It has previously been reported by L’Équipe that PSG wouldn’t prevent Kimpembe from leaving this summer. Foot Mercato went a step further stating that the French international was on Luis Campos’ list of departures with the price for the player set at €50m.
Reportedly on the verge of wrapping up the transfer of Kalidou Koulibaly (31), Chelsea are lining up further defensive reinforcements following the departures of Antonio Rüdiger (29) and Andreas Christensen (26) on free transfers.
Kimpembe is reported to be high on Thomas Tuchel’s list of targets and whilst Goal reports that that remains the case, it has also been revealed that Kimpembe himself would prefer to remain at the Parc des Princes. He is waiting for a discussion with the club’s hierarchy in order to discuss his future.
The PSG academy product has made 241 appearances for the club, including 41 in all competitions last season. However, he seemingly isn’t indispensable to PSG, whilst Tuchel has a long-standing interest in working once again with the player.
