Following a prolonged saga, Ajax left-back Nicolás Tagliafico (29) is set to join Lyon in a reported €4m deal, according to Goal.
Tagilafico has hesitated over a move to Peter Bosz’s side, but is finally set to sign a three-year deal at Les Gones. The Argentine international was reportedly waiting to see if alternative offers would materialise, potentially from Brighton or a side qualified for European competition next season.
Goal are reporting that Barcelona were once again interested this summer, just as they were in the last, but Tagliafico would have had to wait until the final days of the transfer window for a potential move to the Catalan club.

Although Tagliafico had agreed contractual terms with Lyon, he delayed his final response. But at long last, Lyon look to have landed their man, and he is set to fly out to join the squad on their training camp in the Netherlands on Friday.
Tagliafico was Lyon’s priority at left-back having missed out on signing Tyrell Malacia (22), but as the deal stalled, the club were forced to explore other options. The club even had the chance to sign Real Madrid legend Marcelo (34), but turned down the opportunity due to the financial implications of the deal.
