According to Fabrizio Romano Paris Saint-Germain have rejected a new proposal from EFL Championship side Sunderland for young midfielder Édouard Michut which was believed to be a €3m fixed fee plus add-ons with a sell-on clause also included. There is reportedly still no agreement in place.
Earlier this week Sunderland opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Michut, who was reportedly the Mackems’ dream midfield signing.
Scottish champions Celtic were in advanced talks with PSG for Michut in June. The French champions are reportedly open to letting the player go, having worked with him throughout his time in their youth groups.
Although he has a contract which runs until June 2025, Michut has reportedly been seeking a permanent transfer away from the Parc des Princes, due to his frustrations at his lack of game time.
Having made his league debut in February 2021, the teenager has only accumulated a total of six top-flight appearances to date. The young attacking midfielder has however been important in PSG’s U19 squad and their European campaign, in which Michut played all six group games, as well as the Round of 16 and quarter finals.
The player was however left out of the French U19 squad for the recent European Championships held in Slovakia.
