Liverpool are reportedly interested in Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi as doubts remain about the wantaway teenager’s future.
Hudson-Odoi, the winger, is known to be a target of Bayern Munich’s, and he is ready to turn down a contract offer from Chelsea to instead hold out for a move to the Bundesliga.
He has already been the subject of a £35million bid from Bayern, but Chelsea do not want to sell Hudson-Odoi and are allegedly prepared to keep him around until his contract expires at the end of next season.
Bayern were known to be rivalled in the race for Hudson-Odoi by their fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, but Sport Bild in Germany say there is actually Premier League interest in the 18-year-old.
Liverpool are reported to made enquiries about Hudson-Odoi at the beginning of the month and are claimed to have met with his agent, who also happens to be the youngster’s brother Bradley Hudson-Odoi.
Despite the huge interest in him and Chelsea willing to pay Hudson-Odoi a reported £85,000-a-week, the youngster remains with just 14 senior appearances to his name.
However, his game time has been increasing over the past month, having started cup clashes against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, and also been introduced off the bench in both of Chelsea’s previous two league matches.
Maurizio Sarri, the Chelsea manager, said of Hudson-Odoi earlier this month: “I know only that for me he’s a very important player. He’s very young, but now he’s improving.
“I think to stay here is better for him. He’s an English player. He’s very young. He has the future. And I think he has a very great future here, in England, with the national team and with Chelsea.”
