Below are some highlights of the interview.<\/p>\n<p>Having to retire:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was earth-shattering news for me, I started in wrestling just four years ago and I\u2019ve already achieved so much in such a short space of time. It\u2019s been an absolute whirlwind but I don\u2019t feel ready to give it up yet. Sadly, I have little choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reaction from fans:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMan, that reaction blew me away (his retirement speech at Defiant) one of my biggest fears before I went out was that I\u2019d make this announcement and everyone would just be like: \u2018OK, whatever, bye\u2019. But I need not have worried. As well as on the night, since then my Twitter has blown up. Messages from fans and colleagues sending me well-wishes.<\/p>\n<p>How close he was to signing for WWE:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t tell you how frustrating it is.I feel I was so close to getting to the WWE. After my most recent try-out, William Regal told me I was doing everything right and to just keep doing what I was doing. I knew I was getting closer. That dream is no more now though.
